Garfield Square Apartments Site Director (Duluth, MN)

Center City Housing Corp. is looking for candidates to fill our full-time position in Duluth, MN as Site Director of the Garfield Square Apartments.

The Site Director is responsible for carrying out the mission of CCHC by guiding the overall operation of a supportive housing apartment building serving homeless single adults, often with disabilities. This upper level management position involves ensuring the CCHC culture of treating all people with dignity and respect is established and maintained within their community of staff and clients.  This person is responsible for leading a team of employees, volunteers, and partners to carry out the property and program goals based on “Housing First” and “Harm Reduction” philosophies.

This position requires a unique combination of social service skills as well as property and team management experience.  A degree or equivalent experience in human services, business administration, program management, mental health or chemical dependency managerial roles, subsidized property management, or related fields is required.  Supervisory experience is also required.  This position requires a valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.  This person must pass and maintain Minnesota Background Study clearance.

Tenant Advocate (Duluth, MN)

The San Marco Apartments in Duluth is seeking applicants for its Tenant Advocate position.  This is a full-time job with benefits.

Duties Include:

  • Operate agency vehicles for tenant transportation needs.
  • Provide advocacy to assist tenants in accessing appropriate health care and community services.
  • Coordinate tenant appointments and attend tenant appointments as needed.
  • Maintain agency vehicles including fueling, upkeep, mileage logs, and coordinating repairs.
  • Engage tenants to assist them with daily needs, requests, issues, and provide appropriate direction.
  • Provide tenant advocacy including encouragement of goal completion and participation with tenant/staffing meetings to implement Harm Reduction strategies.
  • Accurately log, verbally communicate, and document tenant needs/activities as required.
  • Deliver catered meals to contracted sites using agency vehicle and communicate with kitchen manager as needed.

Preferred Experience:
This position requires a person who is self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as a member of a team to carry out job duties; a person who has interpersonal skills necessary to tactfully deal with tenants and the general public professionally; will need to work effectively with people who are inebriated and/or have active mental health issues; and vehicle maintenance knowledge. This position requires a high school diploma/GED or equivalent with at least one year of experience working with the population. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and have a driving record acceptable to agency’s insurance carrier.  This person must pass and maintain Minnesota Background Study clearance.

Supportive Housing Youth Case Manager (Rochester, MN)

Center City Housing Corp. is looking for candidates to fill our full-time position in Rochester, MN as Youth Case Manager for residents at Gage East Apartments.

The Youth Case manager will provide case management, advocacy, and support services to homeless individuals who are participating in the Gage East supportive youth housing program.  Ensure program success by supporting individuals to create long-term goals, weekly goals, and objectives that lead to improved skills/education/income and movement to permanent housing. Provide information and referrals, home visits, community meetings/programs and advocacy for participants with community providers of services.  Maintain appropriate recordkeeping and client records in accordance with federal, state and Center City Housing Corporation requirements. Work closely with Site Director, Case Management Coordinator, Case Managers, property manager, and other community agencies.

We are looking for a bachelor’s degree in human service field preferably with two years experience in case management for homeless people/youths OR associate degree in human service field with three years experience in case management for homeless people/youths.  Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and dependable transportation, must pass and maintain Minnesota Background Study clearance.

Full-Time Gage East Youth and Family Activities Coordinator (Rochester, MN)

This position works closely with the Supportive Housing Case Managers to develop, coordinate and implement community activities both internal and external to meet the needs of the families, youth and children living at Gage East Apartments.  This position will also provide regular programming designed for school aged children.  The Youth and Family Activities Coordinator provides services as a member of a team and implements the program goals based on “Housing First” and “Harm Reduction” philosophies. This position also works with the Site Director to implement grant-funded activities and complete programming evaluation.

Preferred Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in human services, education, recreation therapy or related field with a minimum of one year experience developing community building activities. Experience working with low income or homeless children is preferred.  This position requires a valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.  This person must pass and maintain Minnesota Background Study clearance.
